The Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster (İŞİM) is the first cluster established in OSTİM in 2007 as a result of the collaboration between Çankaya University and the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate. İŞİM is a national cluster comprised of companies specializing in various sub-branches of the construction and industrial machinery sector and producing domestic products, and has been developing its activities since 2007. Located primarily in Ankara and comprising mostly SMEs, the OSTİM region is a center for the construction and industrial machinery sector in Turkey and globally. Our members possess the potential to meet the sectoral needs of our country.
The Business and Construction Machinery Cluster (İŞİM) consists of companies operating in the following sectors: Heavy and Mini Construction Machinery, Vehicle-Mounted Equipment, Asphalt and Road Machinery, Concrete Machinery and Equipment, Crushing and Screening Plants, Handling and Lifting Equipment, Tunnel and Mining Machinery, Light Construction Machinery, Spare Parts and Attachments, and Supporting Products and Services.
The main objective of the İŞİM Cluster is to enhance the national and international competitiveness of its member companies and enable them to become global brands by developing their innovative approaches and collaborations.
The projects we have carried out in line with these goals are as follows:
Final year students' graduation projects and internships take place at our member companies. On average, student projects are implemented at 20 of our companies each year, and some students even start working at our member companies at the end of the year.
Three EU projects with a budget of €650,000 have been completed to increase international recognition and bring best practices to our country and cluster. As a result of successful project work, İŞİM has been registered as a Bronze Branded Cluster by the European Commission.
To increase the exports of our companies, 3 URGE Projects of the Turkish Ministry of Trade have been completed to date. Within the scope of these projects, needs analyses, export-oriented training and consultancy activities have been carried out for approximately 70 companies. In addition, trade fairs, facility visits and bilateral business meetings programs have been organized in the form of international delegations. As the İŞİM Cluster, we have provided training and consultancy to over 100 employees and have visited many countries on 4 continents to provide commercialization meetings for cluster members. As a result of these projects, a 121% increase in export turnover and a 97% increase in the number of countries exported to companies have been observed.
In addition to these, it has carried out many activities such as joint lobbying efforts, contacts with domestic institutions and organizations, participation in domestic trade fairs relevant to the sector, and promotional catalog and brochure work.
Starting with 25 members, the cluster now has over 170 members, with new members joining every month. After 15 years of experience, the cluster continues its successful and effective operations under the slogan “WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER”.
